- How does working out help you with throwing?
- Once upon a time you were new to this routine, so was it hard at first and can you give me an example of a hard time you had with the routine?
- Do you think your teammates are supportive and helpful and if so how have they helped you?

focal point
The focal point in my field notes is the communication that the throwers have with each other and the coach in the workout room. When doing workouts you seen smiles around the room and determination in their faces. Each girl goes straight to the machine they want as if it is a routine which I assumed. The gestures of a pat on the back or shoulder that the coach gives them shows them that they are doing a good job. Even though after the work they have sweat trickling from their faces. Even though some of the girls look like they are runners because of their appearance such as the skinny body structure. But they lift the heavy weights as if its no problem. Listening to the weights bang on the machines and the music playing in the background for that full hour showed good sportsmanship and perseverance and i was very intrigued by it. They only thing that was left unwanted was the disgusting smell of sweat and body odors but other than that it was surprising interesting.

You should try to describe the weight room in more detail to make us feel like we are actually there when reading your paper... I think the questions you asked were good. Id want to know if they hang out outside of lifting to form a better relationship? I am unsure if there is tension. Did everyone get along while they were lifting? I played tennis in high school and i know that my teammates and i would always be at odds with our coach because we didn't agree on his tactics or ways of doing things. I would ask them how they prepare mentally for the throwing? Or if they are on any kind of special diet to keep in shape for it? Good work :)
ReplyDeleteInstead of the girls trying to be better than one another they help each each because they want their team to be the great. The room was bright and was very warm temperature. The machines were Spreaded out everywhere in subgroups. The tread mills along the wall and weights were far off to the back right corner.
